Gloucester Rugby host Exeter on Saturday in Round 2 of the Premiership Rugby Cup and academy winger Alex Morgan is looking forward to getting more game time at Kingsholm.
On Bath win
“It was amazing. It was so good to have a full packed-out crowd as well. Especially in a derby against a team like Bath, and to put points on them like that, it meant a lot for us boys. It’s been 150 years of rivalry between us two so to put points on them like that was amazing.”
On Friday night lights
“I think a Friday night brings everyone out! Last time I played, I think it was a Saturday and it wasn’t as intense as that but I’m trying to get used to it now and hopefully we can get a good crowd come in this Saturday as well.”
On learning from international teammates
“I say it every time I get an interview, I’m learning of Jonny (May), I’m learning off Zam (Louis Rees-Zammit) and Thorley (Ollie). They’ve all got different experiences and as young players, we’re now getting the opportunity to play out on the field in a Prem Cup game and show the coaches what we’ve learnt. It’s an incredible chance.”
On playing Exeter on Saturday
“There’s definitely been a buzz around camp. It’s just so much easier when you’ve got leaders on the pitch who can put us in different positions on the field but there’s definitely a buzz around camp.
“I can’t wait. Any chance of games so far, I really cannot wait to get on there. A lot of boys are very excited. We’ve gone with a young squad so all of us can’t wait.”
Tickets for our game against Exeter Chiefs are still available here.
