Billy Twelvetrees looks forward to tough Newcastle trip

Gloucester Rugby travel to Newcastle Falcons on Saturday as the Cherry and Whites return to Gallagher Premiership action after a good win against Perpignan in the Challenge Cup.

Billy Twelvetrees is starting in the centre and is looking forward to the fixture.

On Perpignan win

“It was massive. I think the last game in January that we lost was Quins so to get a home win against Perpignan in the Challenge Cup is huge for the group going forward. Especially going into this block of games where it’s going to be full and fast. With the boys away with the Six Nations, it’s massive for the group to keep that momentum.

“The boys and the pack did extremely well against the Perpignan team in front of the Shed and we scored some great tries. Now we park that, and we move on to Newcastle.”

On Newcastle Falcons

“Newcastle is always a tough trip. They are an extremely well drilled team and they are extremely well organised. They work extremely hard for each other. It’s a very difficult place to go and play but we are aware of what that is going to bring and we’ve just been focussing on ourselves quietly.

“We’ll pose ourselves in the way that we want to and get a plan together. Luds (Lewis Ludlow) and the boys have been leading everyone well and the boys are looking forward to going up there. It’s always nice to go up to Newcastle this time of year when it’s a little bit colder but we relish it and we’re back in the Premiership and it’s what we’re all about and what this club is looking forward to.”
