Charlie Chapman looking forward to huge occasion against Harlequins

Gloucester Rugby travel to Twickenham on Saturday to take on Harlequins in the Gallagher Premiership. Charlie Chapman is looking forward to the game and believes that it will be a massive occasion.

On the Harlequins fixture

“It’s a huge game. The team is ready for it. After a disappointing result against Saracens, we’ve righted those wrongs in training and have had a little bit of a break now and we’re ready to take this game to Harlequins. It’s a huge occasion. There’s going to be a lot of fans there and a lot of external things that could be putting us off but we are completely ready.”

On the rest week

“It was good for the team and for individuals as well. Everyone prepares a little bit differently. After losing against Saracens, it was good to have that little bit of a reflection period, not just on that game but the whole season. We lost to Harlequins last time, so we know what we’ve got to do to really take this game to them. Especially with it being at Twickenham as well as it’s a huge stage.”

On Harlequins

“They’re a team that play an exciting brand of rugby. We thrive in that situation as well. It’s really important for us to stay fully focused on the task in hand and when it comes we’ll be ready to take our opportunities well.”

On coming into the end of the season

“For us as a group, we’ve put ourselves in this position. We’re not quite satisfied yet. We’ve got a job to do and I think everybody in this whole environment believes that we can win this Premiership. We’re ready to really put our best foot forward and try and produce something great for this city and the fans.”
