Team News

George Skivington has made eight changes to the starting 15 that defeated Saracens last time out for Gloucester Rugby’s Challenge Cup fixture against Perpignan this Saturday.

Kyle Moyle returns at fullback with Ollie Thorley and Louis Rees-Zammit on the wings. Mark Atkinson links up with Chris Harris in an all international centre combination. Stephen Varney starts at scrumhalf with Adam Hastings at 10.

In the forwards, Jamal Ford-Robinson is named at loosehead with Santiago Socino at hooker and Fraser Balmain at tighthead. Freddie Clarke starts at second row alongside Ed Slater who makes his first start since Leicester Tigers in Round 2 of the Premiership.

Jordy Reid starts at blindside flanker, Jack Clement at No.8 and captain Lewis Ludlow is on the openside.

There is an exciting list of names on the bench with Jack Singleton, Harry Elrington, Kirill Gotovtsev, Andrew Davidson and Harry Taylor covering the forwards and Charlie Chapman, Giorgi Kveseladze and Lloyd Evans named as back replacements.

George Skivington is looking forward to the fixture.

“They will be a tough test. They might not have had the results go their way but they are a very big physical team and they’ve got some dangerous threats in terms of runners out wide. We’ve watched them inside out and we’ll have to be on our toes. There are a slightly different questions in Europe compared to the Premiership because you don’t know people as well as you do when you play them each season.

“I look forward to the challenges that they will present and seeing how the boys deal with it.”
