Cherry & Whites strengthen Academy with signings of Cameron Jordan and Toby Venner
Gloucester Rugby is delighted to confirm a further two acquisitions to our Senior Academy.

Cameron Jordan arrives from Leicester Tigers, having come through their Academy system. Jordan is conformable playing at lock or blindside flanker, and Head of Academy, Peter Walton, is looking forward to seeing him progress with the Cherry & Whites.

“I first saw Cameron playing for Oakham School, and then England U18s. I was really impressed by his physicality but also his skillset. I know he will apply himself well and work hard to challenge himself along with the rest of the Senior Academy.”

Joining Cameron in the Senior Academy set-up is scrum-half, Toby Venner. Venner is a product of Hartpury University, and was one of the stand-out performers in the Premiership 7s last August. Although a scrum-half by trade, he is equally as conformable playing in the back three.

Head of Academy, Peter Walton, has been impressed by Toby’s competitive nature.

“Toby was first brought to our attention by Hartpury coach, John Barnes. We’ve watched him closely over the last season, and we’ve been really impressed by him.

“He knows there is a lot of competition at scrum-half, but we know that will only drive them all to be better players. Toby is very competitive and is desperate to drive his own standards and the standards of those around him.”

We will confirm the full Gloucester Rugby Senior Academy intake next week.
