Cipriani looks forward to Connacht and highlights the importance of the support of the Gloucester Rugby fans
Gloucester Rugby fly-half Danny Cipriani spoke to the club website this week, stressing that the squad remains tight as a group and want to put in a good performance in front of their own fans against Connacht on Sunday, highlighting how the support of Gloucester Rugby fans at Kingsholm is so important to the team this Sunday.

It’s been a challenging few weeks for the Cherry and Whites and the team have been extremely disappointed about the results, but the team are 100% focused on the match on Sunday and successful performances in the remaining matches of Heineken Champions Cup remains a real focus for the team

Cipriani was candid in his analysis of the team’s recent displays, but insisted that everyone in the squad remains positive and retain their belief in what they’re trying to achieve on the pitch.

“We have been on the wrong side of some intangibles over the past few weeks, but we’re not shying away from that, we take full responsibility for our performances. They’re small parts of the game that we can have an influence on, especially if we really apply ourselves on the pitch.

“A lot of good things have been happening. If we can get everyone firing, and stay tight-knit as a group and driving forward then I really do think that we’ll see things turn very soon and we’ll be on the right side of results.

“We’ve got a great group here, with a great team backing us up off the field. I think it’s about everyone standing up and showing what they’re about. It’s still relatively early in the season, and we all care very passionately about what we’re doing.

“We want to show that this weekend at Kingsholm, back in front of our fans, and represent the city and the club to the best of our ability.

“The Gloucester Rugby supporters are the best in the league in terms of how loyal they are, how much they support and care for the club. They keep turning up come rain or shine, so as a team we really appreciate the support and it drives us forward.

“When you have supporters like the fans of Gloucester Rugby, it rubs off and we really want to repay that by putting in a complete performance for them on Sunday and in the matches ahead.”
