Gloucester Rugby’s Franco Mostert has been named amongst the replacements for South Africa for Saturday’s Rugby World Cup Final against England.
The Springboks make just one change in the only change to the team that fought their way to a 19-16 victory over Wales in Sunday’s semi-final with wing Cheslin Kolbe replacing Sbu Nkosi.
The second row joined the Cherry and Whites from Super Rugby’s Lions side once his South Africa commitments were complete in November 2018, and went on to make 16 appearances in his first season with the club.
Had things worked out differently, Franco could have been lining up against his club skipper Willi Heinz. However, the England scrum-half injured a hamstring in last Saturday's semi-final over the All Blacks and has sadly been ruled out of the final.
