Fred Reed to continue as President of Gloucester Rugby
Gloucester Rugby is delighted to announce that current President Fred Reed will remain in post for a further three years.

Fred took over from previous Club President Eric Stephens as Club President in August 2016. Prior to that, Fred was Chairman of the Former Players Association for three years having been a loyal player, captain and team secretary of the Club.

Fred has been busy in his time in post – organising and participating in several President’s Walks to raise money for charity, as well as carrying out a huge amount of work in conjunction with the Gloucester Rugby Players Association.

As a result, Chairman Martin St. Quinton has asked Fred to extend his tenure for a further three years so Fred can carry on his great work.

Martin confirmed today:

“We are a club that is fortunate to enjoy a rich heritage and history, and the players are a huge part of that. And we feel that it is important to respect and celebrate our former players and keep them involved with the Club.

“Amongst many other things, Fred has been instrumental in this area and, as a result, I have asked him to stay on as Club President for a further three years and I am delighted to confirm that he has accepted.”

Fred added:

“It’s been a huge honour and privilege to act as Gloucester Rugby Club President, and I didn’t hesitate when Martin asked if I would extend my term for a further three years. I’m very much looking forward to continuing working for this great club.”
