Game on! After a 5 year break the Walk for Men is back!
People can step out to support two charities and enjoy a pie, pint and a live rugby match at the end of a 10 kilometre walk this March!

Proudly sponsored by Brunsdon, Gloucester Rugby Community Charity is staging a Walk for Men in partnership with Longfield Hospice Care starting and finishing at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday 23 March.

The 10km walk is open to men, women and children. It will start and finish at Kingsholm and wind its way through the streets of Gloucester.

Following the walk, the participants can enjoy a pie and a pint (soft drink for under 18s) before settling down to watch Gloucester Rugby v Wasps Rugby at Kingsholm Stadium (KO 3pm).

Marcus Gomery, MD Brunsdon Financial Services Ltd commented;

“Brunsdon supported the Longfield in its previous form as the Cotswold Care Hospice for the inaugural Mens Walk back in 2013, so when we were approached to support this great event we jumped at the chance.”

Nev Mills, MD Brunsdon Insurance Broker Ltd added;

“Supporting adults with life limiting illness both at the Hospice and at home with their family and carers is essential when illness strikes.

“The Longfield provides a fantastic service but needs help and support from those of us that are healthy and able too. I know personally that their support was invaluable when a debilitating illness struck a family member.

“A walk, a pint and a pie followed by Glaws taking on Wasps. What more could you ask for on a Saturday afternoon!”

Nick Bracey of Brace Creative said;

“We are strong believers in supporting the local community and the work that Gloucester Rugby Community Charity does, which is why we have lent our support to this fabulous event.”

Tickets are £37 per adult or £18 for under 16s and include ticket to the match, a pie and a pint (or soft drink).

People who already have a ticket can still take part in the fundraising event. Entry is £25 for adults and £10 for under 16s.

Participants are expected to raise a minimum of £15 each. The match ticket, refreshments, venue hire and administration is covered by the entry fee.
