After impressing in his 12 appearances during the 2020/21 season, Gloucester Rugby is thrilled to be able to confirm that George Barton has put pen to paper on a new deal which will see him remain at Kingsholm.
The young fly-half, hailing from Longlevens RFC, stepped up to the plate when called upon and now has plenty of topflight rugby under his belt which is valuable experience as he continues his development in the Elite Academy.
Barton said: “It’s a bit surreal to be honest! I’ve always wanted to play for Gloucester Rugby and now to extend that even further is exciting. I just want to get out and play as much as possible for the club and hopefully play in front of a crowd sometime soon as well.
“Just being able to play for the club once was a privilege and now to re-sign and carry on playing is all I’ve ever wanted. Every opportunity I get to wear the shirt is a dream come true for me.
“To get the run of games this season really gave me an opportunity to show what I was about and to show my work ethic and how hard I’m willing to try. I feel like I did that throughout the year. It’s all I want to do from now on.”
