Gloucester Rugby welcome Leicester Tigers to Kingsholm under the Friday night lights in the Cherry and Whites' first home game of the season. Tickets are still available and can be purchased HERE. Ahead of the fixture, we caught up with Head Coach George Skivington who previewed the game.
On Leicester Tigers
"I thought they were really impressive last week. Beating Exeter in your first game is massive so we're not under estimating the challenge that's coming. We're fully aware of where they're at and where they are at currently so it's a big challenge for us.
"Their set piece was very dominant last season. I think it was the most dominant in the Prem in terms of stats but I think they've taken a big step forward in their attack. They were very good against Exeter with their attack and their defence certainly had more line speed and I think Kevin Sinfield is encouraging them to get off the line.
"They were a pretty rounded team at the weekend and were impressive to watch. There's challenges across the park for us."
On three Gloucester Rugby England call ups
"Jonny (May) getting in is great. It shows where his standing is in the England camp. Luds (Lewis Ludlow) did a great job in the summer and I think his leadership, work rate and fight has obviously impressed Eddie Jones. Aki (Mark Atkinson) as well. He's been on the radar for a little while. I thought he might have had a chance in the summer and I think he was disappointed not to. He's consistently been one of the best ball playing 12s in the league and he's got rewarded for it which is great."
"We got a little bit of a taste of it against Ealing but on a personal level, I'm really looking forward to it. The boys have talked about Friday nights and how special they are here. With one of the on form teams in the Prem here on a Friday night with a full stadium. It makes for an exciting time."
