George Skivington has named his side to play Harlequins in Round 3 of the Gallagher Premiership at Kingsholm this Sunday.
The Head Coach has picked a largely unchanged side from the team that beat Wasps 40-24 last time out with Lewis Ludlow’s return to openside flanker and Jamal Ford Robinson coming in at loose-head being the only changes.
Alongside Ford-Robinson, Jack Singleton and Jack Stanley continue in the front row with Ed Slater and Matt Garvey’s second-row partnership continuing behind them. Ruan Ackermann keeps the number 8 shirt and Jordy Reid will start at blindside flanker with Lewis Ludlow returning to the openside, resuming the captaincy.
In the backs, Joe Simpson starts at scrum-half with Lloyd Evans at fly-half after an impressive performance against Wasps. Mark Atkinson and Billy Twelvetrees link up in the centres again with Tom Seabrook, Ollie Thorley and Jason Woodward completing the back three.
Matt Garvey is expecting to face a tough Quins side and is ready for a physical encounter.
“They’re coming off a massive performance against Saints and they’ll be eager to do that again,” he said earlier on in the week.
“As good as our defence and our attack was against Wasps, we need to take it up another level to beat them.
“We’re really looking forward to the challenge, another game at home with some crowd in which will be good. Hopefully we can start to make Kingsholm a fortress again.”
