Gloucester-Hartpury name team for ‘Game Changer’ against Harlequins Ladies
Gloucester-Hartpury’s final match of the Tyrrells Premier 15s season sees them travel to the Stoop on Saturday to take on Harlequins Ladies. Head Coach Susie Appleby makes two changes to her starting line-up including Elle Febrey coming into the second row.

Susie Appleby’s side will be looking to finish the season on a positive note, despite not making the end of season play-offs. Saturday’s will be a challenging encounter with Harlequins trying to hold off Loughborough Lightning and finish in second place.

Harlequins have labelled the match as The Game Changer and, following the success of last season’s equivalent against Richmond, are seeking to attract an attendance record for a women’s match in this country.

Appleby makes two changes to the side that started against Wasps last weekend – Bethany Randall comes in for the league’s top try scorer Kelly Smith on the left wing, and Elle Febrey replaces Cerys Hale in the second row.

Appleby explained her selection decisions as follows:

“We were really disappointed with the result last week against Wasps - we created opportunities and converted some, scoring four excellent tries.

“However, our accuracy let us down and you just can’t make errors against any of the top four teams who will make you pay.

“We are determined to make amends this weekend and finish the season with a good performance. Quins are an excellent side and they will be buoyed playing at the Stoop and also playing for a home semi-final spot.

“Unfortunately, Zoe Aldcroft hasn’t made it back from injury in time, so Elle Febrey steps in to start alongside fellow Junior Academy player Iona Antwis in the second row. Both have been exceptional for us this season. Meanwhile, Kelly Smith picked up an injury last weekend and Bethany Randall comes in to replace her.

“We have nothing to lose on Saturday and are going to the Stoop to give it everything we have.”
