Sale Sharks Women 7 - 26 Gloucester-Hartpury Women | Report by Sophie Tandy

Gloucester-Hartpury found themselves in a great position early by kicking to touch just before the try-line. Knocked on in the lineout, Sale Sharks were able to find space and make good ground.  Moments later, Gloucester piled on the pressure on the home side which resulted in Bryonie King crashing over the try line for the first points of the match. Daisy Fahey added the extras.

With Tatyana putting in some huge hits, Sale were crumbling with the pressure. Daley-Mclean kick was charged down by Heard and then deliberately knocked on by Sale's Lisa Neumann, resulting in a yellow card. A series of attacks from Gloucester saw Kelly Smith charge down the wing and dive for the line, only to be denied by a strong cover tackle into touch. This didn’t stop Gloucester, with a powerful driving maul handing the opportunity for Kelsey Jones crashing over the whitewash. Fahey added the extras.

We opened the second half with Ellie Underwood blocking Daley-Mclean’s clearance kick, retrieving the ball unchallenged and diving over the try line. Daisy Fahey with the conversion. Sharks came back firing with a clean interception by Lisa Neumann and Daley-Mclean adding the extra points.

After several positive attacks from Gloucester and two held up tries. Gloucester finally got the ball outside resulting in scrum-half Bianca Blackburn diving over the whitewash. Gloucester-Hartpury finished with a bonus point try and a win away in Manchester.

Gloucester-Hartpury take on Saracens (A) next Sunday.
