Round two of the Allianz Premier 15s saw a tremendous battle between Gloucester-Hartpury and Loughborough Lightning. 70 minutes of physicality and speed, had both teams in a good position.
The game started off with a score from Loughborough Lightening scrum half, who used her speed around the breakdown to snip on over the white wash. It wasn’t long however, until Gloucester-Hartpury came fighting back straight off the kick off. With the pack carrying hard and up to the 5m. The try came when Hannah Jones crashed the ball up, using both her strength and speed too secure Gloucester-Hartpury's first try. Loughborough continued to use their speed and kicking advantaged with Helena Rowland in at 10, which saw then over the whitewash once more.
Gloucester-Hartpury got the first points of the second half. Coming from a quick tap, and using Shona Powell-Hughes power to charge down over the try line. The penalty count in the second half increased and Loughborough Lightening capitalized this, using the boot of Helena Rowland to secure more points. Mia Venner then used her magic to get across the line. However, Loughborough Lightning had a strong reply, using their speed over the ball to regain possession and crash through our defence to get their final score. Gloucester-Hartpury stayed in the game and in the final minutes saw Rachel Lunds dummy switch to put Millie Wood into a gap and score the final bonus points.
