Gloucester-Hartpury Women make two changes for visit of Loughborough Lightning
Looking back to bounce back after defeat at Bristol Bears Women last weekend, Gloucester-Hartpury Women make two changes to their starting line-up with Loughborough Lightning the visitors to the Gillman’s Ground on Saturday.

Centre Rebecca de Filippo is ruled out with injury so Tatyana Heard, who played flanker last week at Bristol, is named in her usual position in midfield. Taking over in the back row is Bethan Lewis.

She is one of a number of Welsh players who are available for selection having been on regional duty recently, joined by Cerys Hale and Sian Williams in the matchday 23.

Head Coach Susie Appleby is looking for a reaction after last week’s performance.

“We let ourselves down last week against Bristol, they outplayed us everywhere and we were very poor.

“We’ve had a good training week and are looking forward to getting out there tomorrow to make amends. We have our Welsh players returning from regional duty so Bethan Lewis starts at 7 and Tatyana Heard returns to the centre with Rebecca de Filippo ruled out through injury.

“Cerys Hale and Sian Williams are set to impact from the bench and Emma Sing from our junior academy is involved for the first time having impressed for the A team last week.

“Loughborough have had an excellent start to the season, we have a huge challenge ahead of us tomorrow.

“It’s a big day for the club with both teams playing at home for the first time this season. There will be plenty going on for kids so it’s going to be a good family day out, with the games kicking off at 1pm and 3pm, £2 entry.”
