The Cherry and Whites have a handful of players out on loan getting valuable game time and experience in the Championship. Gloucester Rugby also have a number of university students on scholarships who are completing their studies whilst also playing rugby for their university teams.
Out on loan
On loan at Hartpury is Matty Jones, Cameron Jordan, Josh Gray and Olly Adkins who have all helped Hartpury climb to 3rd in the Championship having played five games, winning three of them.
Securing a 62-19 win over London Scottish away from home last weekend, their time out on loan is going well.
Reece Dunn was named on the bench for Ampthill’s 17-17 draw against Jersey. Ampthill are currently 7th in the Championship having won two of their five games. Dunn is getting some good exposure and regular rugby in the Championship.
Tom Stanton is currently out on loan at Coventry in the Championship.
Isaac Marsh and Joe Howard are getting good game time playing for Hartpury BUCS and they have both stepped up and used their experience to develop their leadership skills. They both played a role in Hartpury’s 35-19 loss to Cardiff Met away from home.
Danny Eite, Conor Murphy and Iwan Glynn are all on Gloucester Rugby scholarship’s at Hartpury where they are studying alongside their rugby. Eite is studying Business Management with Murphy studying sports coaching and Glynn studying Sport Therapy.
Eite and Murphy were involved in the 35-19 loss to Cardiff Met.
Ben Golding started at second row for the University of Bristol’s 2nd XV when they beat Southampton’s first XV 41-15 away from home. Golding is studying Finance and Maths.
James Pollard started on the bench in Cardiff Uni’s 32-6 loss to Loughborough last Wednesday. The score was tied 6-6 at half time but the home side were too strong in the second half and went on to secure the BUCS Super Rugby victory.
Liam Antrobus and Bertie Taylor are on scholarships at Cardiff Met. Antrobus is studying Law with Taylor studying Sport Exercise Science.
