Gloucester Rugby announce Club Ambassadors as part of Mental Health Initiative
Gloucester Rugby are delighted to announce that two of our players, Todd Gleave and Simon Linsell as well as our Academy Performance Manager Kevin Mannion  will take on the roles of as the Club’s Mental Health Ambassadors as part of a new Mental Health Campaign spearheaded by the Gloucester Rugby Community Charity.

Niki Savory, Community Education Tutor, who will lead the project alongside the  Ambassadors, explained why this initiative is so important to everybody at Gloucester Rugby:

“Gloucester Rugby is a central part of the community and we want to ensure we are doing everything we can both internally for our staff and externally in the community to raise awareness of Mental Health, promoting the support available to those who need it.

“One of the lesser discussed elements around Mental Health is how you can help support a friend, colleague, loved one or family member. Our aim is to help encourage people to further understand their own mental health and the mental health of others and offer suggestions on what to do if help is needed.

“Mental Health can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and background. We want our staff, players & supporters to know that there is help available, signpost them to that help and encourage our target audiences to talk.”

If you, or someone you know needs immediate help with their mental health, please speak to a medical professional or make an appointment with your GP.
