Lewis Ludlow has been confirmed as Gloucester Rugby’s captain for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Having initially been given the role by George Skivington last season, Ludlow has impressed and will serve another term as captain at Kingsholm.
Leading from the front, Lewis’ leadership style is admired and respected by the squad and it is the way that he puts his body on the line every time he pulls the shirt on that will make his appointment a popular one.
Having captained England twice over the summer, Ludlow is an experienced leader with international quality and will be hoping to help the club push on coming into the new season.
Ludlow is honoured to have been asked to captain the club again this season.
“To captain this club for another season is a massive honour for me. The history of Gloucester Rugby and the heritage makes being captain such a huge privilege.
“I’ve been on the pathway ever since I was 17 and I absolutely love this club, so to be given the captaincy is huge.”
George Skivington is delighted to confirm Ludlow as the new club captain for the 2021-22 campaign.
“Lewis is everything we want and look for in a Gloucester Rugby player. He gives 100% every day and he is so passionate about the club but most importantly, he leads from the front and by example.
“As an Academy graduate, he is a great role-model for those coming through the Academy and I'm looking forward to seeing him push on again this season."
