Gloucester Rugby open Premiership Rugby Cup campaign at home to London Irish
The Premiership Rugby Cup will open the 2019-20 season, and today’s fixture announcement confirmed that Gloucester Rugby will entertain London Irish and Bath Rugby and travel to Bristol Bears and Harlequins for their pool games.

Four weeks before the start of Gallagher Premiership Rugby, the format of the competition sees England’s 12 top flight clubs grouped into three pools of four, with the top team in each and the best runner-up across the pools qualifying for the semi-finals. The Final will be staged – once again – at the stadium of the highest-seeded side.

In a player-welfare driven initiative the structure of the Premiership Rugby Cup ensures that our players will receive a two-week winter break at the end of January/ start of February, when the two semi-finals are staged on different weekends.

The Cherry and Whites kick off their campaign at home to newly-promoted London Irish on Saturday 21 September, kick off 3pm.

A week later, Gloucester Rugby will play their first away game of the season, and it will be a West Country derby as they travel to take on Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate on Saturday 28 September, kick off 3pm.

It’s another away game seven days later with Harlequins providing the opposition at the Stoop before the Cherry and Whites round off the pool stages with a home fixture, and another derby game. Bath will be the visitors to Kingsholm on Friday 11 October, kick off 7:45pm.

The semi-finals will be played on the first two weekends in February 2020, with the final penciled in for the weekend of March 14th/ 15th.
