Gloucester Rugby U18s lost 25-3 to Bristol Bears U18s on Thursday at Dings Crusaders but put in a performance that showed progress from the London Irish game in Round 1 of this year’s competition.
The Bristol side ultimately took their opportunities when they were presented and the young Cherry and Whites struggled to get a foothold in the game.
Head Coach Matt Teague was pleased with the effort the lads put in and the way they responded to last week’s performance.
“Luds (Lewis Ludlow) kindly sent the boys a video message prior to the first game about work rate, physicality and pride in the shirt. We didn’t quite get that right against London Irish but as a coaching group we were very proud in the boys efforts away against a very well drilled Bristol side who took their chances well.
“We’d like to thank all the parents for their support away in the last two fixtures, it’s greatly appreciated.
“The young Gloucester men, are now hugely excited about playing at Holm three times post Christmas and the opportunity to experience what an amazing theatre Kingsholm is.”
Gloucester Rugby’s Academy League continues against Harlequins at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday 8 January.
