Gloucester Rugby U18s lost 17-14 to Exeter Chiefs with the home side scoring a pick and go try in the last play of the game to secure the result at Truro College.
The Cherry and Whites had built a 14-5 lead thanks to tries from Tom Riman and Sam Vince with captain Keillen Cullen slotting the two conversions.
But the young Gloucester Rugby side couldn’t hold on and with a man in the bin, the home side made the most of their extra man advantage and got over the line at the death.
U18s Head Coach, Matt Teague, was pleased with the performance despite the result.
“The boy’s work rate and physicality was exceptional especially after a 4 hour + bus journey down to Truro.
“The parents support was noticeable and really made a difference and we are very thankful to have had them there.”
Gloucester Rugby’s U18s are back in action at Kingsholm on Saturday 5 February when the Cherry and Whites host Saracens before then hosting Bath at Kingsholm again on Saturday 12 February. Click here for more information.
