Gloucester Rugby U18s fell short in Round 1 of their U18 Academy League when they lost 41-17 away at London Irish.
There were plenty of positives for the young Cherry and White side who scored three tries through Fred Ma’a, Henry Pearson and Will Gilderson with Keillen Cullen adding a conversion.
The U18 side are back in action on Thursday when they take on Bristol at Dings Crusaders at 2:30pm.
Head Coach, Matt Teague, was pleased with his side’s efforts but knows that there is plenty to work on ahead of the next game.
“We came up short against a very physical London Irish who took their chances very well. Inaccuracies and not coming away with points in key areas of the pitch, despite a large amount of possession ultimately cost us.
“The great thing is we have a fantastic opportunity to go into a local derby away in Bristol next week and show what it means to represent this club.”
