Gloucester Rugby’s New Match Day Stadium Announcers

Gloucester Rugby’s New Match Day Stadium Announcers
With Gloucester Rugby appearing at Kingsholm for the first time this season in Thursday’s pre-season friendly against the Dragons, it’s time to reveal the club’s new match day announcers - Andy Wyman and Warren Moore.

Andy and Warren have been appointed to take over from Graham Spring, who hung up his microphone at the end of last season after an incredible 40 years in the role.

As part of our new match day line-up, Andy will be bringing supporters in-game updates, as well as player interviews from around the stadium, whereas Warren will be announcing the teams, and helping with the build-up to kick off and half-time entertainment.

The pair are familiar voices to radio listeners as they both live and work in Gloucestershire.

Andy has a long standing connection with rugby. He played for Lydney and Loughborough Colleges, and had committed to playing for Gloucester Rugby before suffering a bad knee injury.

He recovered to play a few games for the United before moving to play for Lydney and Cheltenham, going on to become the coach of both clubs as well as coaching the County Colts.  In recent seasons, Andy has been a summariser for Gloucester Rugby’s away games for BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Warren has spent the last 10 years living in Gloucester Docks and a decade waking up Gloucestershire, first on Heart FM before recently moving to join the BBC at Radio Gloucestershire.  He has hosted a number of the concerts at Kingsholm and been a frequent visitor to matches as a Club Member.

Adam Benson, Chief Commercial Officer at Gloucester Rugby, said: “We are delighted that Andy and Warren have agreed to be our new match day announcers.

“They will be a great asset and help us as we look to enhance the match day experience for both existing fans and those coming to Kingsholm for the first time.”

Tickets are still on sale for Thursday's season opener at Kingsholm Stadium, as the Dragons come to town (KO 7:45pm). The fixture is part of the 2018-19 Club Membership, and general sale tickets are available by clicking here
