Gloucester Rugby’s Ioan Jones has been named in England’s U18 side for the Six Nations festival in France.
The tournament takes place at the FFR National Centre, Marcoussis, between Saturday 9 and Sunday 17 April.
Jones has been called up to the squad after impressing in this season’s Academy League for the Cherry and Whites.
Still an U17, the Dean Close pupil is an exciting fullback and Head of Academy Peter Walton is delighted that his efforts have been recognised at an international level.
“Ioan is a really good young lad who works his socks off whenever he is out on the rugby pitch.
“He’s really stood out for us this season and the fact that he is still an U17 makes this achievement even more impressive.
“I hope he makes the most of this opportunity and that it helps his development as a person and a rugby player.”
