Gloucester Rugby return to Kingsholm on Friday night after a successful trip to Newcastle last time out. Ahead of our game under the lights against London Irish, Jack Singleton spoke about the away win and how much he is looking forward to playing in front of the Compeed Shed.
"With the delayed kick off and the weather conditions up there, Newcastle as a team always fight and they always make the game tough. We were delighted to get the five points and it made that bus journey back a little bit sweeter."
On the challenges of a short turnaround
"Originally we were meant to have a bit of a recovery day on Sunday. Because of the changes to kick off, we had to scrap that. It’s just about getting in the knowledge on Monday and then on Wednesday and Thursday it’s about really putting the plan into place so we’re ready to fire into it on Friday."
On London Irish
"They bring a lot of attacking rugby. They are an exciting team to watch and they score lots of tries. I think they’re the top try scorers in the tournament at the moment. They’re a big physical pack with an expansive game. It should be a real test for us."
On playing at Kingsholm
"It’s been a while since we’ve been out at Kingsholm and I’m hearing it’s a sell out as well so a Friday night at Kingsholm, there’s nothing better in rugby so I’m really looking forward to it."
