Jordy Reid hopes to give the fans “something to cheer about”

Gloucester Rugby host Northampton saints at Kingsholm in the Challenge Cup Round of 16. Ahead of the fixture, we caught up with Jordy Reid who previewed the game.

On Dragons win

“It was a tough game. We were down at half time, and we fought well in the second half. We knew going there that it was going to be a scrap and they came to play. The way we came back in the second half and got over the top was a good way to finish the game and finish the pool games.”

On knockout rugby

“It’s knockout rugby now. It’s win or go home so both teams will be giving it their all and I think Saints are definitely going to come to play. It’s the third time we’ve faced them this year too so it’ll be another good challenge. We’re 1-1 at the moment so it would be good to get ahead too.”

On preparations

“It doesn’t change too much in the prep. You try and keep things consistent. There’s obviously more consequences to the game now if you don’t get the win. We’ll try and stay loose and keep training consistently and hard and turn up on the day and perform well.”

On playing at Kingsholm

“The crowd here always gives us an extra little 10%. We lost last time at home so we want to turn that around and give the fans something to cheer about.”
