Gloucester Rugby is saddened to pass on the news that lifelong fan and former Mitsubishi Motors Managing Director Jim Tyrrell has died suddenly at the age of 60.
Jim grew up in Gloucestershire and had always supported the Club. While he was Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors he instigated the long-standing partnership between the Club and the Japanese car company.
He continued to be involved with the Club in his non-executive role with Freemans Event Partners.
Club CEO Lance Bradley said: “This is unbelievably sad news. I’ve known Jim for 33 years, and he was a truly inspirational figure. His love of Gloucester Rugby was immense. He’s going to be hugely missed by everyone who knew him.
“Our thoughts go out to his partner and especially his two daughters.”
