Gloucester Rugby travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership on Friday. Louis Rees-Zammit previewed our trip down the M5.
On the Northampton win
“It was a Round of 16, knock out game. We needed to win it and fortunately we got over the line.
“Knock out rugby is special because anyone can win. We’ve got Sarries next and we know that they’ll be a tough side and they’ll have a full strength team so it will be two good teams going at each other.”
On returning to the Premiership
“There’s a bit of a difference because knockout rugby is one game but we’re looking at it game by game so it’s kind of the same set up really. We’re looking to win each game and we know that Bristol are going to bring a lot of heat to us. They’ve got a really wide game and some fantastic players so it will be a great challenge and we’re all looking forward to it.”
On preparations for Bristol
“We’ve got our system so as long as we stick to it and believe in it we’ll be ok. It’ll be a great challenge for the back three and our defensive line but hopefully we can put in a good shift.
On travelling to Ashton Gate
“Every fan looks forward to this game each year and with crowds back in, it’s going to be a great game and we’re really ready for it and I hope the fans are as well.”
On the final run in
“We’re coming to the end of the season now. It’s amazing. We’ve got the Challenge Cup, we’re in the fight for a top four spot in the Prem and we’re obviously in the Prem Cup as well. To be in all three competitions is amazing and hopefully we can go on and win them.”
