The Premiership Rugby Cup kicks off this weekend, providing the opportunity for the young members of the Gloucester Rugby squad the chance to shine in front of a noisy Kingsholm Stadium crowd this weekend, with Wasps the visitors (KO 3pm)
The Premiership Rugby Cup is the platform for stars of the future to lay down a marker, and the Cherry and Whites have named an exciting young side for the tournament opener.
Here are a number of players to watch this weekend.
Dom Coetzer
The South African has shown his class in Cherry and White since his summer arrival from the Stormers, and he starts at inside centre this weekend looking to combine his playmaking skills, with a running threat as he takes the ball to the line and attracts defenders.
Will Porter
The Wasps’ scrum half showed his promise in the summer’s Premiership Rugby Sevens series, as this week’s visitors finished runners-up. He’s sharp around the fringes and will be looking to use his experience in this competition and the Premiership Rugby Shield to take his side to Kingsholm this weekend.
