Match Preview – Gloucester Rugby v Worcester Warriors

Match Preview – Gloucester Rugby v Worcester Warriors
The Cherry and Whites return to home soil this weekend, with Worcester Warriors making the trip to Kingsholm Stadium for a Gallagher Premiership Round Eight clash (KO 3pm)

After a loss on the road at Exeter Chiefs last time out, the Cherry and Whites will be keen to get back to winning ways, with a dangerous looking Worcester Warriors side the visitors with key domestic points up for grabs.

Here are some players to keep an eye on this weekend.

Ollie Thorley

There are still scorch marks on the Kingsholm pitch after Thorley’s last run out on home soil, and the Gloucester flyer will be keen to add to the pair of tries he scored against Leicester Tigers in Round Seven.

Ryan Mills

It’s a fascinating midfield battle, and the former Cherry and White is a key man for the Warriors and their dangerous backline. A threat on the floor as well, Mills combines creativity with power.

Last Time Out

Exeter Chiefs 23-6 Gloucester Rugby

Worcester Warriors 20-13 Harlequins

Form Guide

Gloucester Rugby’s 6-23 reversal to Exeter last weekend ended a two game winning run in Gallagher Premiership Rugby. Gloucester’s only defeat at Kingsholm in any competition this season was 25-27 to Harlequins in Round 5 of Premiership Rugby.

Worcester Warriors last four fixtures in Gallagher Premiership Rugby have all been won by the home side on the day. The Warriors only away victory in Premiership Rugby since February was 44-37 at Leicester in Round 4.

Worcester beat Gloucester 25-15 at Sixways in February, the last time they met, but have not achieved successive victories against them since April 2009. The Warriors have won only once before at Kingsholm, 13-6 in Premiership Rugby on 21 April 2009.
