One change for Gloucester-Hartpury Women against Loughborough Lightning
Gloucester-Hartpury make just one change to their starting line-up as they welcome Loughborough Lightning to the Alpas Arena in the Tyrrells Premier 15s on Saturday afternoon, Gurpreet Dhaliwal replacing Erica Mills in the second row.

Susie Appleby’s side will be looking to build on the two victories they’ve achieved since the resumption of the Tyrrells Premier 15s after the Autumn international period.

However, the Lightning will pose a real challenge as they are currently in fourth spot in the league table, just one place and three points behind Gloucester-Hartpury.

Head Coach Susie Appleby has kept changes to a minimum with Canadian second row Gurpreet Dhaliwal coming in for Erica Mills.

There are several changes amongst the replacements. Kathryn Buggy returns as front row cover and Wales international hooker Kelsey Jones is available again. Italian international Francesca Sberna returns to cover the back row.

There are also welcome returns to the first team squad for England international scrum-half Bianca Blackburn and fly-half Sophie Bridger, who both returned in A League action last weekend after lengthy injury absences.

Appleby discussed the fixture this week:

“We are looking forward to welcoming Loughborough to the Alpas Arena on Saturday. They are an excellent side with strength in depth and will be in confident mood after two good wins.

“I’m very happy to welcome back Bianca Blackburn and Sophie Bridger into the squad. Both have had extensive lay-off due to injuries and have fought back really well through the development team.

“There’s a good feeling in the squad; we are enjoying ourselves on and off the pitch and playing some good rugby. We know we are in for another huge physical battle on Saturday and it is imperative we dominate the collisions.

“We need to play smart and in the right areas of the field and seize opportunities. We are treating every week as a cup final and this week is no different!”

Kick off at the Alpas Arena is at 4pm.
