Sasha Acheson putting her best foot forward for charity
Gloucester-Hartpury prop Sasha Acheson has overcome some challenges in her life, but Monday sees her embark upon one of the most testing yet as she starts a walk for charity which could see her enter the Guinness Book of Records.

Sasha, of course, as well as playing in the Tyrrells Premier 15s for Gloucester-Hartpury, has performed at international level for England. That’s no mean achievement in itself, but she has also had to overcome a serious knee injury which specialists said would end her career.

She’s swept aside that setback to resume her playing career, but is unfortunately sidelined at present with a shoulder injury so has decided to do something positive while she can’t play – walking from one side of the country to the other!

She’s no stranger to a physical test – in the past she has cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back again. Having done South to North, she’s now going from East to West!

Raising money for Restart Rugby and the Firefighters Charity (Sasha’s day job is as a Firefighter), she is walking from Ness Point in Lowestoft to Land’s End in Cornwall.

They are the most Easterly & Westerly points in England - and it means she will be walking practically half a marathon, or a full marathon per day - this walk has apparently never been done before. It’s over 500 miles in total!

Sasha has recorded a video explaining why she is taking this on:
