Gloucester-Hartpury travel to Harlequins on Saturday and ahead of the fixture Sean Lynn provided an update on all things at the club.
On a strong start to the year
“Things are going well. 2022 has started with a bang which is great and in our first game of the new year we went away to Bristol and got a very good result there.
“It was a really tough contest last week against Sale who are really building their squad and they came down with a game plan and we stuck to our structure and came away with the win which is great.”
On the growing support
“It’s been great. Especially when we played against Sale, the crowd we had there was amazing. You can see that the crowd is building when we go to away game as well, especially when we went to Bristol, it was great to see a big crowd there from Gloucester.”
On England 7s call ups
“It’s amazing and when James Rodwell rang me about Tatyana Heard and Kelly Smith, I just told them that it was a great opportunity and then Tatyana rang me and told me that she’d never played 7s before! I told her just to go out there and enjoy it and be yourself. That’s what she is, and on the 7s circuit she’s going really well.
“It’s really nice that the 7s coaches are watching the 15s game and seeing how some of those girls can transition into the 7s game. Look at Alicia Maude, she came to us as a college student and I think it’s a great way for her to get a contract in the international game and get some game time and learn her trade off of Mo Hunt.”
“It’s very exciting. Harlequins are a great side and we’re going to show them a lot of respect. Exeter beat them the Sunday before and it’s going to be a tough task.”
