Tim Taylor encouraged by what he’s seen from Gloucester Rugby in preseason so far
Backs Coach Tim Taylor was on post-match media duties following the preseason victory over the Dragons on Thursday evening. He admitted he’d enjoyed a lot of what he’d seen from the team but that there’s still work to do.

“Really happy, it’s been a good preseason. We had a good first hit out last week against Ulster with the two sides out there, and another one this week.

“It’s been good, the boys have worked really hard, bought into what we want to do and I think it’s shown in those first two games.

“The Dragons are a good side. I’m really happy but we’ve still got lots to work on. It’s very encouraging though to see everyone buying into the structures we want to create. It’s important for us to understand what we want to improve and that will see us get better and better.

“In attack, we created some lovely opportunities although I think we left some out there. When the boys executed their individual roles, it really showed and, when we stuck to our framework, we made things happen.

“Selection for Saints is going to be tough. Everyone’s worked hard in preseason and we’ve got such a strong squad this season with loads of strength in depth.

“Selecting the side is always tough, but we’ll have a good look at these last two games. It’s tough, but it’s a good position to be in, everyone’s worked hard and wants a starting spot.

“We’re all really excited and itching to get out there next week. But it’s important that the boys recover well this weekend and come back in on Monday ready to go again.”
