Wheelchair Rugby team cross the Severn Bridge in fundraising effort
On Saturday 22 June, the Gloucester Wheelchair Rugby team set themselves a challenge to push 5 kilometres (3 miles) in their rugby chairs across the Severn Bridge.

Training resumed on Monday 24 June, so this was a great test to indicate how fit they are. The weather was beautiful and perfect conditions for the Park Push.

The horn went to start the race and off went the players. The first half of the course had a small incline all the way which made a lot of difference for the players pushing. But, on the way back down, the players were able to grab some momentum.

The finishing line was coming close and it being the final push. With fatigue kicking in, the light was at the end of the tunnel for the players and they gave it their all to finish off. All players finished within sub 40 minutes which is an amazing effort.

Overall, the team raised £780, and everyone involved with Gloucester Wheelchair Rugby would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported the event and donated.
