The return of the Tyrrells Premier 15s is still three weeks away, so Gloucester-Hartpury Women are using Saturday’s Development League fixture at Saracens (Allianz Park, 2pm) to give some valuable match action to several first team regulars.
Saracens are taking a similar approach with the likes of Bryony Cleall, Donna Rose, Kat Evans, Lisa Martin, Jodie Rettie, Eloise Hayward, Chantelle Miell and Rachel Laqeretabua all featuring.
Gloucester-Hartpury’s side contains a number of full internationals, including winger Kelly Smith who has been training with the England side for the Six Nations in recent weeks and who will benefit from some competitive match action and Ellen Murphy who started for Ireland in their fixture but who picked up a calf injury in that game.
